Ocean therapy
Today a beautiful participant nominated me to ride the wave with her, because she and her family remembered we “got the best wave last year”
Her husband came up to me after and shook my hand. He told me there is a video they play at their home that shows us riding the wave and it’s watched often.
It’s insanely humbling and moving to realise how much of an impact days like these have with participants and their families.
I always leave this experience with my heart feeling expanded in all directions.
My tears blend into the ocean.
To be around families who live and breathe disability offers a deeply profound bond that is felt without words.
The vulnerability, the trust, the teamwork, the communication, the love.
Everyone has their own story.
We try to do this annually for our triplet brother Pierce who passed 5 years ago.
He wouldve chosen three “happy girls” to ride the waves with him.
His spirit lives on so vibrantly on this day.
A special day that always falls on or around our birthday weekend.
Thank you to everyone involved who do it for the love!
